The result is a special edition bar that’s lightly sweet, satisfyingly chewy, and balanced — perfect for any time of day. The Kona Bar has 14g of plant-based protein, 10g of fiber, and just 5g of sugar. Get the nutrition you want, in a bar you’ll actually look forward to eating. Plus, 10% of proceeds go to our non-profit partner Kupu, supporting youth environmental education and sustainable farming programs in Hawai‘i. Kona Bar contains less than 10mg of caffeine.

We use no added heat, USDA organic expeller pressed high-oleic sunflower oil instead of other oils because it contains a rich amount of monosaturated fats (oleic acid), a low amount of polysaturated fats, and creates a delicious texture for our bars.

What can I expect The Kona Bar to taste like?

Buttery Hawaiian macadamias and flaky coconut, with 100% Kona coffee sitting quietly underneath. The coffee is there for the deep flavor, not necessarily an energy boost: caffeine is under 10mg, so you can eat one in the evening unless you're highly sensitive. One of three Special Edition bars we make in small batches, with 10% of proceeds going to Kupu.

What is in The Kona Bar?

The Kona Bar is made with 100% Kona coffee from Greenwell Farms, Hawai'i-grown macadamia nuts from Hamakua, flaky coconut, and chocolate chips. The protein is a blend of organic brown rice protein and pumpkin seed protein. Contains tree nuts (almonds, coconut and macadamias).

How much protein is in The Kona Bar?

One bar gives you 14g of plant-based protein, 10g of fiber and 5g of sugar, at 230 calories. Sold as a 6-count pack. The protein is entirely plant-based, and there are no sugar alcohol sweeteners and no stevia.

Do The Kona Bar contain sugar alcohol sweeteners or stevia?

Never. We are very deliberate about our food philosophy, and sugar alcohol sweeteners are not part of it: no erythritol, xylitol, maltitol or sorbitol, and no stevia, sucralose or aspartame either. Sweetness comes from organic cane sugar, tapioca syrup and fruit, with a touch of monk fruit in some flavors. Monk fruit is a fruit extract, not a sugar alcohol sweetener. Every full size bar has 5g of sugar or less.

Are The Kona Bar vegan and dairy free?

Yes. Every ALOHA bar is certified vegan and made without dairy. The protein is entirely plant-based, from brown rice and pumpkin seed, and the chocolate used across the range is dairy free. The bars are also soy free and Non-GMO Project Verified.

Are The Kona Bar gluten free?

Yes, and we hold a stricter line than the label requires. Every batch of finished product is third party tested for gluten to under 5ppm, where the Certified Gluten Free standard allows 20ppm. Bars are also soy free and Non-GMO Project Verified, and ALOHA is a Certified B Corporation. Certifications differ slightly by flavor, so the badges on this page are the ones that apply here.

What allergens do The Kona Bar contain?

Most ALOHA bars contain tree nuts, usually almonds, cashews, pecans, macadamias or coconut, and several contain peanuts. Nuts earn their place as a source of plant protein and healthy fats. Exact allergens differ by flavor, so check the ingredient list on this page. No ALOHA bar has dairy, soy or gluten in it. Bars are made in a facility that also processes fish, milk, peanuts, sesame, soy, tree nuts and wheat, with equipment cleaned and swabbed between every run.

    Kona flavor is good

    These are fine, but not my favorite. The front of the package shows a coconut and a macadamia nut. But I’m not sure that my taste buds can pick up the macadamia nuts, …but I do taste the coffee. And I was not expecting that.

    I still love a LOHA bars and will continue to order them. But just in other flavors.
