Why don’t the special edition bars have the USDA Organic certification like all the other ALOHA bars?
Talking directly with farmers, we've learned that USDA Organic certification can take 3-5 years and require costly operational changes—often out of reach for small farms. However, many of these farms already follow organic practices, like avoiding harsh chemicals and pesticides. While these bars don’t carry the official USDA Organic mark, most of the ingredients are organic and each undergo ALOHA’s rigorous quality-control process.
Are all of the ingredients in the special edition bars sourced directly from Hawaii?
Each special edition bar features 3-4 ingredients sourced from Hawaii, and all other ingredients are sourced from various partner farms around the world, all guaranteed to meet ALOHA’s quality standards. This is mainly because not all ingredients are commercially farmed and produced in Hawai’i, due to myriad factors including climate, soil density, land usage, and cost constraints related to shipment and distribution.
