We are loving this ingenious flavor combination from Jessie Snyder at Faring Well. Tahini, honey, and chocolate combine for the perfect treat when you need something new, but don’t have time to make a special grocery trip for exotic ingredients. These sesame snack bars are great as a mid-afternoon snack or as an easy dessert.
1 1/4 cups gluten-free rolled oats
1/2 cup white sesame seeds, hulled
Good pinch of salt
1/4 cup tahini
5 tablespoons raw, unpasteurized honey
1 ALOHA Superfood Chocolate bar, chopped
Toss the oats, sesame seeds, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Add the tahini and raw honey, mix well. Add the chopped ALOHA Superfood Chocolate bar last and mix until evenly incorporated. Press evenly into a parchment-paper-lined 9x5 loaf pan. Place in freezer to set for 15 minutes. Remove from pan by pulling up on the parchment paper. Slice into 8 squares and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Best if eaten within one week.
