Spinach Walnut Pesto

Traditional pesto is made with basil, garlic, olive oil, pine nuts, and parmesean cheese, making it high in calories and fat. This healthy version substitutes walnuts for pine nuts, omits the cheese and adds ALOHA Daily Good for an extra kick of nutrients.

Makes About Two Cups


  • 4 cups packed spinach
  • 1/2 bunch basil
  • 1 cup raw walnuts
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Juice and zest of one lemon
  • 1 packet of ALOHA Daily Good Greens
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (or more to taste)
  • 1 whole garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a high-powered blender or food processor. Blend until fully incorporated andsmooth.
  2. Store in a sealed container in the fridge. Pesto will last for up to two weeks in the fridge and or several months in the freezer. You can also freeze small portions in an ice cube tray to be defrosted for single servings.
